A symphonic tribute to The Beatles
The Drammen band Det Betales has been paying tribute to The Beatles for several decades, and is the largest The Beatles tribute band in Norway. With their arrangements for full symphony orchestra, they have had great success in recent years both in eastern Norway, in Trondheim and in Kristiansand.
Together with the Ålesund Symphony Orchestra, they will perform a number of The Beatles' immortal hits.
The Beatles' music is diverse, ranging from simple rock & roll to advanced compositions. It was producer George Martin who introduced The Beatles to classical music, and they were very productive and willing to learn. When the song Yesterday took the world by storm in 1965, only Paul McCartney was present in the studio with a string quartet. This had never happened before in rock history.
Later, the band arranged a number of songs with full string arrangements. Songs like Penny Lane, Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Heart Club Band, Something, The Long and Winding Road, Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds, and many more. In fact, the music became so advanced that The Beatles stopped playing live, and they themselves were never allowed to perform this music from the stage.
With the Ålesund Symphony Orchestra, we will ensure that the audience can hear and experience both these and many of the other famous songs here in Ålesund, together with the band Det Betales.
